Care Assistant

Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Care Assistant to join our team. As a Community Care Assistant, you will provide essential support and assistance to clients in their own homes, helping them maintain their independence and enhancing their quality of life. Your role will involve providing personal care, administering medication, assisting with daily living tasks, and offering companionship to ensure the well-being and comfort of our clients.

Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality care services to clients in their homes, following individual care plans and guidelines.
Provide assistance with personal care activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Administer medication as prescribed and ensure proper documentation.
Assist with household tasks, such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and laundry.
Support clients with mobility and transfers, using appropriate techniques and equipment when necessary.
Engage in meaningful conversations and activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
Monitor and report any changes in clients’ health or behaviour to the appropriate supervisor.
Foster a safe and comfortable environment for clients, maintaining their dignity and respect at all times.
Collaborate effectively with the care team, including nurses, therapists, and other professionals, to ensure holistic care.
Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain a high standard of care and professionalism.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided, observations, and any incidents or accidents.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a similar care role, preferably in a community or home care setting.
Demonstrated understanding and empathy towards the needs of elderly or vulnerable individuals.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trusting relationships.
Strong organisational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Reliable, compassionate, and patient, with a genuine passion for caring for others.
Basic knowledge of health and safety practices in a home care environment.
Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and client needs.
Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for traveling between client homes.
